Home Room Parents (HRP)

Welcome!

Being a home room parent is a great way to get involved with your classroom teacher and fellow parents! Room parents help build the classroom community and support their children’s teacher! Each class typically has a team of  3+ HRPs who divide up these responsibilities:

  • Communicate updates to class families on behalf of the teacher, PTO, and other parent volunteers. 

  • Facilitate parent volunteering as needed for the teacher.

  • Manage class gift fund.

  • Create a class roster and optionally a classroom WhatsApp group to build community.

  • Coordinate photo sharing and create the class yearbook page

Training is provided to all HRPs. If you have more than one child at Laurel, you may serve as an HRP for more than one class. Interested in serving as a HRP? Sign up now using the Room Parent Interest Form!
