Home Room Parents (HRP)

Being a home room parent is a great way to get involved with your classroom teacher and fellow parents! Room parents help build the classroom community and support their children’s teacher! Each class typically has a team of 2-3 HRPs who divide up these responsibilities:
- Plan class social events
- Communicate updates to class families
- Manage class funds, teacher and staff gifts
- Coordinate photo sharing and create the class yearbook page
- Facilitate classroom volunteers and family involvement as needed for the teacher
Training is provided to all HRPs. If you have more than one child at Laurel, you may serve as an HRP for more than one class. Interested in serving as an HRP? Sign up now using the Room Parent Interest Form! Sign ups will be open until back to school night, but we highly recommend if you are interested you sign up now! After class lists are posted, room parents will be matched with classes.
