Art in Action
Laurel students are the fortunate recipients of an incredible program offered by Art in Action, a nonprofit organization that helps enrich children's lives through visual arts. The engaging, hands-on curriculum teaches art history, art appreciation, and art techniques.
Art in Action provides Laurel students, of all learning styles, the opportunity to create, problem solve, and think critically - skills essential for their success in the classroom and beyond.
Taught by parent volunteers, the Art in Action curriculum is fun to learn and easy to teach, even for non-artists. We are currently looking for interested parents who can donate a few hours a month of their time to help in the classroom. We need docents, who will lead discussions and projects, and assistants, who will assist students and aid with set up and clean up. Training is provided. Please help offer this fun, interactive learning opportunity in your child's class.
